7. Amazon’s NS then tells your local NS that ‘www.amazon.com’ is at 1.2.3.8.

8. Your local NS gives that info to your computer, and remembers it for awhile, in case you or another local user decide to go to Amazon again right away.

That whole process is just to turn the name into an IP address. NOW your computer has to figure out how to connect to that IP.
